    I received my replacement Storm today and haven't been able to try and activate it until now. I refuses to activate from *228 and also online at vzw.com..My storm had a defect so I activated a friends storm until I received mine unfortunately his was in pretty bad shape and actually died on me today...So original is off and so is his, my new one has my battery in it and is fully charged..I need to call my boss, a client, and a friend about picking him up at the airport, and I'll be screwed if I have to wait until tomorrow morning can anyone help me with any knowledge you may have on this issue?

    I *think* you can dial 611 from the phone which will get you thru to tech support.

    You need to start with an ESN change before you do the *228 programming. You can do the ESN change on VZW's website or you can call *611 from a vzw cell phone (not the one you're trying to activate) or you can call 800-922-0204.

    After the the ESN change, you can do the *228 programming. You'll want option 1.

    Since it's a BB, you should then login to your BIS account and change your PIN.
