Hi,

I'm new to the BB world and I'm not sure how to upgrade my Storm to the new OS.

Can someone help me? And is it worth it? I see alot of post that are having issues.

My BB desktop Manage is updated to v5.0.1...Put on to I update the phone?

Your desktop manager is up to date. Hook up your device to the PC, and follow the instructions in the article I posted.

I hook it up...Went into application loader...update software...and it was uploading something on the phone...but my phone doesn't say version 5.0 in options.

The 5.0 OS has not been officially released for Telus. I apologize for assuming you were on Verizon.

You will need to download the 5.0.0.328 software here MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

Then follow the instructions here http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/ho...system-208714/ to load an OS that has not been released by your carrier.

Me too. It's OK. If you still want to load the 5.0 OS that was released last week by Verizon, see my above post for the link and installation instructions.

I have had good experience with 328, except for white bars issue in landscape mode, but theres a fix for that.

i love the new OS. even though i went back to my Tour, i still like 5.0 on the 9530 A LOT

My app world doesn't work...

^ pull battery and after a reboot it should be fine.

always do that if you get that error

The only issue I had was BBM was missiing after the ugradr. So I had to go find it. Smoothest OS I have run so far

OK, that caught my attention. There's a fix for the white bars in landscape? Where is it, please?

Otherwise, .328 is doing great. Had to reload BB messenger and re-register a couple of apps but it is faster and I seem to have better battery life and memory retention. I like it. Not even dreaming about Storm2.

hey guys..just finished upgradin..thanks a lot for such a helpful thread
just a quick question though..my AppWorld is gone after the installation..i've just restarted my phone, pulled the battery out and all and my AppWorld just wont appear..its gone completely and so is Facebook App and BBM has been downgraded to the previous version..
