So I unzipped the file I downloaded to install .86. And every time
I try to do it, I finish unzipping and then no new files pop up. I have
the "" checked yet still nothing.

Can anyone please help!? This is my first time trying to install a leaked OS and I'm getting frustrated

Read the forum about how to do it. There is an entire subforum devoted to how-to sort of questions like this.

You should really read through the whole set of directions before you set out to do this.

I'm honestly not too sure. But I double clicked on the file and windows installer came up, and it said it was finding all the files it needed, a "preparing to install" screen came up and then it just went away.

    Read the forums.

You got the link to download .86. Now go read how to do it. This has been covered hundreds of times.

Okay first of all, I have read through the directions on how to put a leaked os on to my BlackBerry about 15 times. DOWNLOADING and INSTALLING the OS to my computer is where I am having a problem. So you can either A, think I'm a ***** and not help me. Or B, think I'm an ***** but help me so then I'm not left still asking questions.

    And I'm running Windows XP.

Once the exe for the OS is run and you hit Next, Next, Next to install it and it finishes, that's it. The files are on the PC. You MUST THEN RUN DESKTOP MANAGER TO INSTALL THE OS TO THE PHONE. If you don't have Desktop Manager loaded, that's your problem. You need to uninstall the OS file, then install DM and then install the OS file again. (Do it this way, trust me on this...)

BTW, nice thread title... "Unzipped and nothing happened"... hummm, perhaps some Viagra might help.

Err... just caught something in your original post: you unzipped the file? Where did you d/l the .86 OS from? Every OS leak I've gotten from here has been an executable file, not inside a zip file

Well I'm redownloading the os right now. I think the main problem is I RAN it. I saved it this time so I'm hoping it'll work right.

And can you just let me borrow one of yours? I don't want to get a whole perscription

I got it from the .86 forum. The guy said he uploaded it to a site and zipped it for some reason. I'm not quite sure honestly, but the megaupload site didn't work and I have no idea about torrents, so I picked this one.

This dude could have done any number of things wrong here...helping him is made more difficult by his inability to spell out everything he has done thus far.

    Questions...

What OS on your CPU are you running? Let's up hope it's not Vista or 7.

What version of DM are you running? Make sure the latest version is downloaded. Desktop Software

Once you have the leak downloaded, did you turn off your internet connection then uninstall the BB OS that resided on your computer? If not, turn off your wireless then uninstall the OS.

If you clear up the above questions, then you can unzip/run the .exe of the file you're working with.

With your BB tethered to your CPU, did you use a program to wipe your device? If not, recommendation is to do it.

Now open DM and load the OS.

Again, by following step-by-step processes laid out here ...http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/ho...eta-os-122851/
