    Have you done options>advanced options> GPS>GPS Services> location on?

    yes i tried options, advances options, GPS, location is on, I'm getting an error message stating that the application requires a data connection, what does this mean?

    You need a data plan aparently for GPS to work. If you do have one call your carrier. If you dont its about $29 a month....email, internet etc...
