I've seen what else you all are experiencing and there are conflicting reports of snappiness, signal strength, accelerometer speed, media loading speeds, etc. The basic goodies! But for the most part these recent releases have been the same in regards to speed.

.148 is .141 without the locking bug (which I enjoyed) and the *228 error. Verizon was ready to release .141 and it's been speculated that these errors kept it from becoming official. Now that they are gone, I fully expect .148 to get through the same testing without any problems.

Unless they want to hold off on this release for an early 5.0 in June...which is possible but unlikely....148 will be our official release for 4.7 to hold us over until 5.0 finally drops.

    Book it!!!

What do you all think? Will this FINALLY be it? I think so!

theres also .2xx, numbers dont mean a thing. verizon will release the next OS they test that passes their tests. be it .148, .15x or heck maybe even all the way to .2xx. speculate all you want, doesn't change the fact that an OS will come when it comes, there is no science or math to it, just takes time.

BUT being that most of the good features from those higher 4.7's were shifted to 5.0, wouldn't it be easier for VZW to shift this over NOW to satisfy the tons of dissatisfied customers?

Get this out of the way to make people happy and the extras in .2XX? Well, they'll get those in 5.0 come August or so.

So far I have not encountered not one problem with the new 148. Working for me flawlessly. I hated 141 and went back to 132 cuz I also loved that one. I can't see any reason for VZW to fail this OS. Besides, it would make all the .75 folks extremely happy with their phones and it would give VZW 6 months of no more Storm complaining and also 6 months to come out with something better! lol

HeaEHaAHe that's the funniest thing I've read in a LONG time.

one of the things I like to say is that you could give someone a plate of 24k gold, and they'll say "do you have anything in white gold?"

whiners will always find something to whine about...

To me, what VZW needs is a good build, such as .148 or better, and a 5.0 build when the time comes.

That way, people who wish that 4.7 is nice or better than the 5.0 for them can choose that and 5.0 can be chosen as well if people want the features of 5.0, and as well if the 5.0 version is better than 4.7.

The 5.0 builds are going very well, at least the latest versions

I think that one thing would have been noticed after 24 hours use by the hundreds (thousands?) of us who installed this today.

Even if I already have .148 installed weekendbum, it is good for all of us. People will stop complaining about those .75 bugs that have been around forever (no more posts about vibrating profiles not working!) and developers will have an easier time...knowing .148 will be official until 5.0 releases allows QuickLaunch and all those other people to get their game together and start developing more solid apps.

One of the biggest improvements from .75 - .113 on is that it's actually possible to use basic phone functions without mega-lag (media player, camera, etc)...still laggy but not nearly as bad.

I think all but the ql is great. Noticed even explorer on this is so much faster. The fastest i've seen yet with IE. I hope a fix comes out for the ql though as I live by it. But keeping this one!

What I want to know is what's going to happen when the storm2 is released and there are no more excuses as to why RIM/VZW can't get it right...with this original storm everyone's excuse is:

    1. It's new technology and that's what you have to expect with new "ground-breaking" technology

    2. You have to expect that with the ever changing environment of technology...

I myself upgraded to every leaked OS...and had great results for about the first 2 -3 days and then I (on my device) started experiencing the "bugs"....

Is it too much to ask to release a update that is better ALL AROUND???

I mean dang...Civic's list of bugs hasn't even been addressed in the .148 leak??

But it really doesn't matter...they could release .2xx that is more deficient than .75 was (in some peoples minds) and it'll all be good, because it's a new release!!!!
