I have VZW also... I got the 8330 Curve and it's so stable and wonderful! I haven't had any issues at all. It's also cheaper! I would HIGHLY recommend.
You all know what happened when the storm was about to be released...it took months and months for any consumers to actually see the phone due to delays and shipment problems...if you want to wait another 6-9 months to get a new blackberry 8900 from verizon go ahead...but if you want one now just get the storm..ive had mine for almost 3 weeks and NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM..has never froze, rebooted or any of the problems people are complaining about...just WAIT FOR THE OFFICIAL OS and you will be one the same boat as me..dont mess with beta's, they will screw you over.
