How about a poll to make it easier to see how many Storms were available at your VZW store on launch day?
My wife and I were first at Simpsonville, SC store this morning. Store opened at 8am. There was a total of about 7-8 of us there waiting outside the doors about 45 min. before opening time.
Our VZW told me they had 11 Storms.
We were going to get two Storms, but after fiddling around with a display unit for a bit, I decided to hold off getting one for myself until I had some quality hands-on time with her Storm. My wife got the Storm without even looking or touching it. LOL
I can tell you that comparing my first hands on impressions of the iPhone vs. Storm..... I was more impressed with the iPhone right off the bat. I could take or leave (leave is what I did) the Storm this morning without much of a second thought.
At the Boston store located at 340 Washington Street, I got mine this morning, #9 in line. The store had 100 in stock, and by the time I left this morning, there were around 80 people. An employee greeted every one of us and wrote down our names to be helped. When I left, the list had 80 people on it.
Wow, my store opened the door and before allowing anyone in said they would allow the first 3 in line to come in and check in. Then, they'd gradually let the next person in line to come in and check in to ensure that nobody got rooted from their place in line.
They were very friendly, organized, patient. Everyone in line was having a good time too, despite the cold.
I can see the Coral Gables Store from my office window and although it opened at 8am, there are still people in line out the door. I assume that means that there are a bunch there, as I have a hard time believing that people are waiting to be listed. However, after reading all of the other forums, I am seriously rethinking my decision to get one of these.
My store started with 30 and got another shipment of 50. They sold the 30 and have about 30 more people in the store. So about 20 left.
I had to work today and can't go until tonight. I pre-ordered two via phone so hopefully that goes through but I might try to cancel that if they still have some. The guy at my store said I can order through him and get it in two days.
My store wouldn't say how many they had but the rumor was 20. I was #16 in line and when I got in, they were all gone...bummer. Ordered 3 for delivery.
Just got mine in Kalispell and was told each store in Montana got 30 and are getting more this afternoon. Crazy that the bigger cities are getting less than 10!
Just picked mine up in southwest Missouri. Was told there were 16 phones available. I was number 7. There were 9 people in line before 8 a.m. Despite what some on here are reporting, I signed up for new service, ported my old number and messed around with my new storm without a hitch. It is running .65 and is currently going through the switch device wizard, but I don't have any complaints yet.
Also, what's with all the "thumb fatigue" comments? It doesn't appear any more difficult to push than a button on a Bold.
Well, the Harlem store in NYC had about THREE! I was 13th in line, so needless to say, I didn't get one. But, I ordered at the store, and they guaranteed overnight deliver by NOON tomorrow. I felt badly for the store personnel, as people were PISSED OFF! About 10 minutes before they opened the gates, I noticed that the first 2-3 people in line disappeared (they had been there since 2am), but no one seemed to know where they went. I think that the store pulled them inside and did the sale. Then, when they opened up to the rest of us, they just said that they didn't have any. The thing that really irritates me is that I called the store last night, right before closing, and they gave no indication that they had only three.
I was #9 in a line of 40 or more in south Florida. They sold out their SIX!!! That really pisses me off. They are shipping mine "overnight" Fedex and am supposed to receive it
tomorrow morning. I understand the hype and marketing thing but ths is crazy. Now they can say

I was #7 in line, the store rep told me that they had 60 of them! There were much more then 60 people in line. I bought 2, and felt kinda guilty about it, but ****, I was there in the freezing cold at 6am!
I got to my store at 8:30 and they had just sold the last of their 31 that they had this morning. They are getting 31 more this afternoon and they are calling me and holding one for me when they arrive. THey are also getting more tomorrow.
