- It wont happen. Verizon is too set in stone that they really can't do anything in store.

I was 3 months out on my last upgrade and they still hooked me up...although I had 2 call 3 times b4 i got someone in the loyalty n retentions dept. But once i did i had my new Pearl delivered 2 my door in 2 days! So when u call make sure u ask for loyalty and or retentions....they're the ones that will take care of ya. - A CS rep told me an interesting thing. She couldn't move up my date because it was too far.
But since I have no insurance on my phone, she said I can suspend the phone through My Verizon. Walk into the store without a phone, say I lost it, and then they could give me a Storm at the 1 year price.

On the otherhand, I just had a bit of success. In the past I've had to replace my 6800 and now its acting up again. I decided that enough was enough and decided to call it in. I told the reps that I would like to forgo the replacement and instead look at getting the storm. First three calls got me nowhere... Finally I decided to try and make my way to retentions/customer loyalty. I called up (*611) and requested a transfer. After about 15mins someone answered and asked for my Name, State, and SSN. WTF! Somehow I made it to 'collections' lol. She said I was supposed to be transferred to "Care". After a brief hold I was where I needed to be.
I told this rep the same story and he said "Sure, let me get my managers approval. Then you will be able to just go in store or order it online." He also suggested online because the rebate was easier as it was electronic. After 10 mins on hold, I was greeted with good news. I could get my NE2 credit but I would have to order over the phone and the earliest I would get it is Tuesday...hmm what about overnight shipping? He said it wouldn't work since it was going over the weekend. I then had him annotate the account and called the local store.
Whoever answered I couldn't understand and after she finally realized that I was calling about moving my date (she thought I wanted accessories or something...no clue), she said the notes weren't complete. Oh well.
Another call to CS and I am greeted by someone who sounded cheerful and happy (a good sign). She saw that the previous rep was going to order it for me and we debated how I would be able to get it. Since I was VIP I could get free overnight but it would be a bit useless since it wouldn't arrive til Monday. I asked about Saturday and she said sure...but its not covered by VIP. At this point I sighed, and she must have taken that as a cue to offer it to me for half! ($10) So she sent him over an email with my details (including shipping it to another address) and said he will give me a call back. We chatted a bit about the weather (gonna have a 0 degree windchill tomorrow) and I found out that the previous person I was dealing with was a "coordinator". Overall, she was probably the most pleasant rep I've dealt with.
And now I wait. *crosses fingers*
Long story shot: Call *611, hope you get someone helpful and be NICE! Maybe throw out the terms Care Department or Coordinator (quite generic, I know). I guess most of it is dumb luck, but its not too late!11-20-08 06:00 PMLike 0
