If by "purchase the storm at a discount rate" you mean "to get us into the store to buy other phones" then yes. some people did.

Storm isn't gonna be a part of the deal, sorry. Think VZW is just trying to push the storm to being the face of the company, sort of like the iPhone is the face of ATT.
