This was possible previously, but with the introduction of threaded SMS in OS 5.0, it has since become not possible to show SMS in a today theme. Reason being the way threaded SMS works is kind of an inbox of its own.
Updating to .607 should solve your problem . Unfottunatly it creates one for me because I don't care to see a list of SMS on my home screen . Any way to turn SMS off for my today screen ?
