Sorry if this has already been asked...
I was wondering why it says "Qualcomm 3G CDMA" on the back of my storm 9500.
To my knowledge, there is no CDMA hardware in it.

This isn't a photo of my phone exactly, but it's what it looks like on my phone.

I have wondered that myself. Even asked the question here before and no one answered.

I think someone should try loading 9530 radio code on one and let me know if it works.

Well that's interesting you say that because the vodafone software release has a CDMA folder.

    I'm really curious about it.

As for me I just begun to wonder about it too since 2 days ago.
I tried inserting my cdma sim into my storm, and it said "insert sim card"
And I felt dumb right after it. D'oh!
However it quenched my curiosity about the matter that 9500 is indeed a gsm only device.
But the question about those qualcomm 3g cdma at the back still lingers.
I thot I was gifted with a dual ability storm at first! Lol! Goes both gsm n cdma!

Even if the 9500 had some sort of hidden CDMA radio, I wouldn't use it...I love att.
It's so strange though. It's a european phone and there's no CDMA in Europe, so why would they bother printing it on the back.

CDMA is going to be phased out anyway though....

Even if you put a sim from a cdma carrier in it it would not make a difference unless you loaded an OS with cdma radio code in it. I wouldn't say you really proved anything.
