I have noticed when I send a text to someone I get the right time on the message but when they send something back to me it says that it is two hours later...my girlfriend lives two miles away from me. I have done the *228 option 1 allocation but for some reason I can't get an accurate display of the messaging time...I don't get it

Also where are you checking the time? I know with mine for example say I turn my phone off over night and someone texts me at 2am asking if I'm out somewhere. I turn my phone on at 10am, it receives their text, and on the main message display where it lists all the texts it will say 10am. However if you open the message, at the top, it will say (going by memory) something like From: So and so, Time: 2am.

I noticed the same issue. The time stamp in the SMS inbox is correct, it's incorrect when you actually open the message.

Mines the opposite! Inbox is always the time received and open the message is the time it was sent.
