Install ORB to access your home media files that don't fit on the SD card
Invest in a program to rip your DVDs to a Storm-friendly format like MP4, I like DVDFab DVD-to-Mobile but it's a pay program
Install Google Sync and any other Google Apps you like
Install the appropriate IM clients or splurge on IM+
Install QuickPull and schedule a periodic reboot in the middle of the night
Install Level - you'd be surprised when it comes in handy!

Was it any trouble installing it? I've been thinking about moving to a hybrid, starting with this one, but from what I've read over lightly, the install method is a bit different than just using apploader, and i've always avoided it because it seems a bit more complicated.

Lyricidal has very detailed instructions on his post. It's not difficult at all, the directions just make it look difficult because of the amount of steps.

    Don't forget:

Make a phone call to mom

    Check your e-mail

    Do a battery pull

    Do another battery pull!

But in all seriousness, just have fun and use it!

Just use a browser like Opera mini cause the default browser sucks!

Or at the very least, shrink your OS and trim the unnecessary fat.

No problem, Orb is great because I convert all my DVDs to WMV files so I can stream them to an XBox 360 attached to any TV in the house (you can also do this with the PS3 and Wii), Orb will transcode them on the fly and reduce the bandwidth requirements so the Storm can play them. When I'm on the ground I've got access to my full library of media, but when I'm on a plane it's still useful to re-encode select movies to compressed MP4 files and slap them on an SD card. Not bad for a free program!

Well for me, I prefer things to work specifically for the Storm, as of yet Bolt nor Opera work seamlessly. I definitely notice pages loading faster but to me I can wait a little longer if it means better navigation per page.

Orb is AWESOME, and GPS is good too, but for the features and price Google Maps is my favorite, I wish the Youtube app was faster and more useful, but that's a cool one too.

    - google maps
    - nav4all (free gps navigation)

    - Bolt internet browser
    - software to rip dvds to mp4
    - got2pro task manager
    - marketsimplified (stock trading/research for tdameritrade clients)
    - bbfilescout (explorer for all your files like windows explorer... Find and manage files)

My most recent addition is PaderSyncFTP. It's just a little clumsy with the Storm (it isn't optimised for touch screen) but it works fine. The ability to post stuff to the web on the fly is awesome!
