this is my first blackberry.... have previous updates made major changes? or has it just been tweeking here adjusting here and fine tuning the current OS.
If you have a Storm, it will be constantly upgraded. Never is a new OS made for a product that is already released.
What about OS 4.5 that came out for the Pearl and Curve that shipped with OS 4.3 IIRC?
Of course I think we can all agree that RIM will probably be updating software for the Storm long after most of us have moved on to some newer model. Whether it just be a continuation of OS 4.7 or an all new OS. So 2-3 years from now, you'll probably still be seeing the occasional update if you still have your Storm.
With the app store coming in March 2009
does that mean there will be not be any programs released for the Storm until then? I know the app store will be through Verizon but can't software developers release independantly
I'm sure apps for the Storm will be released before then, but they won't have anything like Apples store until March. I guess they want it to directly compete with Apple's and be more involved with the consumer unlike how the company has been previously run. They were explaining quite a few ways it was going to be better than the Apple store, but I can't really remember exactly what they were. I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that they wouldn't allow an app that would use the flash from the camera as a flashlight... something about being a little more restrictive on apps than apple, but taking more feedback from the customer and helping developers a whole lot more. (Which they do already)
