I live in MN, USA and I have a friend in Canada that I've been keeping in touch with lately. I have unlimited texting on the phone. Am I going to get some kind of surcharge for texting out of the US to canada?
Thanks

Bueller..Buelller...Bueller?
Dude, chillax its only been a half hour. Give people a chance...
Fell to the bottom of the page, figured it'd get buried if I didn't bump it
Canada is covered by your unlimited texting plan, since it is domestic and its Nationwide..
I figured it would be.. but on the site, it says any text sent out of the US is subject to a 25 cent fee
quote from the VZW website
You can text message non-U.S. numbers of participating carriers with no additional setup required. A charge of 25 for outgoing messages and 20 for incoming messages will be applied. These text messages do not count against your text messaging monthly bundled allowances.
I'm not sure where canada falls in that
1) bumps are not allowed in most forums.
2) bumping is not required as when every individual person logs in, there cookies will show what posts are new to them, even if it shows that it dropped of the front page for you.
My old lady travels to Canada frequently and texting is covered under our plan. We have the Family Share Plan, $110, 1400 Mins, Unlimited text, picture and video messaging.
We do incur some pretty hefty voice charges when we talk, but we usually just text and email.
Alright thanks for letting me know. Guess I won't be calling him!
