Hey guys, I plan on getting the storm on release date. I can't seem to find any feedback on how texting is? I'm a heavy texter (10,000+ a month) so texting ability is big.

Or make phonecalls. Those 90+ texts could have just as easily been 5 min phone call.

The touch screen keyboard is my ONLY thing that is going to have me stay with my curve. I use my curve for heavy email use, about 150 received and 50-100 sent per day, so I need to be able to type on the phone. **** I find myself sitting at my desk sending from my berry over my desktop.

I would rather text or email. I hate talking on the phone.

I have a co-worker that burns out his keypads on his phones about every 6 months due to the amount of texting he does.

i could clear past 6000 a month if I use aim on my V, but I've learned that AIM is annoying on my phone and hopefully I will have a better experience with the Storm.

As far as texting on it, don't give up. It's going to take time to make your fingers go where they should! I'm looking forward to it!

I text about 10,000 + too and it really doesn't feel like it haha. I use a lot of shortcuts on my 8830 (i.e. "Y" turns into "Yeah")

Texting/emailing on a BB is just so convenient with a full qwerty. I used to have a razr and would only text about a 1000 a month.

Talking on the phone is, in reality, more time consuming. I run around town a lot and texting instead of talking will get the same point across and will not be as distracting.

I really hope texting on the Storm can keep up with blackberry users' flying thumbs (I typed this post on my BB in about 30 seconds). If not, I'll have to stick with my 8830 or get a Curve.

Physical keyboards will be hard to overcome in accuracy and speed.

Ok, for heavy duty texters you will just have to slow down and LEARN how to use the Storm. If you expect to be texting super fast like you normally do will be setting yourself up for disappointment. You will get fast but you will have to be patient until you build your speed back up again

There's defnitely a learning Curve. But once you get good at judging where your fingers are (the blue helps), you'll be almost as fast as you are on a qwerty.

Have you tried out the Storm's texting? I'd like some feedback from someone with a little experience with the phone.

I text around 10,000 -11,000 a month so the storms keyboard is a deal maker or a deal breaker for me.

    Thanks for any input

ya texting using the storm takes a while to get used to it! coming from a parson who used to have the iphone, u always have the tendency to touch and expect the letters to be on the screen but u have to remember to touch/click it is no curve for sure... but u could get used to it i only have mine for like an hour now and its still a learning curve for me, lol

As good as the storm screen is... not sure it'd be good for someone who texts THAT much. As some others have suggested, probably a physical keyboard would be better

I know a qwerty comes up in landscape, but does a texting keyboard come up in portrait mode?

Uh.. to text 10,000 a month you would have to txt 14 times an hour 24 hours a day. That is insane.

I might txt 100 times a month lol.

Anyway, for your question, it sounds like the KB on the storm will slow you down some but not a lot. You may want to make it a point to try the phone out a few times before you purchase. You also might want to wait a month or so until they get the bugs worked out of the OS, if there are any to work out. Just my 2 cents.

The portrait kb is a "SureType"

Same as what comes on pearls I believe

Is there also a regular number keypad like on my razr? I thought I saw that somewhere

Well I text 10,000 + a month but its not in 24 hours. Probably 8 hours a day when everyone is awake
