after about 2 lines of sms text, i get a "field full" message. i'm new to this "smart phone" thing, but old BB i used at work didn't have such a limitation. i've looked through all the limited info provided by verizon and don't see an answer to how to get more space in the text field. can anyone out there help me with a solution?

It is limited to 160 Characters. If you need to send a message longer than that you have to send an MMS or an email.

All my other phones had a text counter on it so if you went over 160 chars it just sent multiple texts.

Storm's the first phone I've owned that hard limits you. :-(

Its not a blackberry thing, because I had a Pearl and it would let you type as long as you wanted in an SMS. Now I have the Storm and it totally restricts you. I don't see why it won't just notify you that it will be in 2 seperate texts, but still allow you to type. So annoying!!

its actually a Verizon Blackberry limitation. The Vodaphone storm 9500 lets you send 3 pages of 160 char text.

My vzw pearl had the same limitation. My Verizon Q did not. So its not a verizon thing, or a blackberry thing, but it is a VZW BB thing.

    Pretty stupid.
