We have updated instango multi-client messenger to natively support the Blackberry 9500/9530 Storm.

Everyone with a BB Storm is welcome to test it out and post back feedback here or in the instango Blackberry beta test forums.

Download the beta OTA on your Storm from here (get.instango.com). Make sure you download the beta version!

You might also want to take a look at a preview Quicktime video ) and check out the screenshots attached to this post.

As this is an early untested beta for the Storm we are going to release fixes quite frequently so make sure you check for updates often.

    Update 2.1.41 - Feb 01, 2009
    Changes since last release
    - Support for invisible status
    - Added Notification icon on homescreen
    - Added prompt on disconnect/exit
    - Now remembering status on every restart
    - Option to hide tabs when there is no active chat (on by default)
    - Added option to copy link, not just opening
    - Bug fixed when using Wifi a disconnect will not reconnect because instango thinks there is 'No coverage'
    - Bug fixed where contact/account delete was not deleting correct item when list changed before delete was acknowledged
    - Potentially fixed bug where contact list display became corrupted on scrolling
    - Bug fix where entered text is being sent when text field is accidentally clicked (Blackberry Storm)
    - Fixed bug where chat open for two days will show same date on day change
    - Fixed bug where chat not updated on theme change
    - LED notification when contact comes online extended to run longer
    - Improved loading speed on startup
    - Improved traffic usage on startup

For everyone where instango is not correctly showing (Small screen with blue border and the virtual keyboard up). This means instango is running in compatibility mode on the Storm. You have two options
    1. Go to Options > Advanced Options > Applications on your Storm. Select instango, open the menu and then select 'Disable Compatibility Mode'
    2. Uninstall instango, then reinstall

You can get the beta directly from your Storm by going to instango - Download. Download the beta version.
all you volunteers should point your BB browser to the link above, I believe its an OTA download for the beta of the program.

    Instango is using data only.

It connects you to multiple instant messaging services like ICQ, MSN, AIM, GoogleTalk, Yahoo! or Jabber

Played with it for about 10 minutes. Looks pretty cool.

Allows multiple AIM accounts (maybe others?).

Has feature for sending Photos directly from app, tho haven't figured out if that works yet. Couldn't get it to, so far. Also sound clips, files, etc.

Looks promising. Do you intend to eventually charge for this product, or will it remain free?

Does it automatically refresh your buddy list or do you have to manually do it like the one that came with it?
