Hi, I've come to this place to see if any of you experienced BB users can help me out.

I recently purchased my first Storm 2 off eBay. I have already activated my BIS account and everything works perfect, except the Wi-Fi function.

I can easily add my Wifi home profile and connect to it. The problem appears when trying to browse or use any app that requires connection data.

I can browse just fine for a FEW minutes and suddenly the Wifi connection drops making the browser hang on "Requesting" or "Loading" until a message pops up saying "Could not find the requested server" or "Could not connect to Internet...". I've tried adding (automatically and manually) and deleting profiles, trying on other places (work, gf's home, etc.), resetting the device (battery pull) and updating OS up to no avail. Obviously every other wifi gadget works excellent, so it's definitely not the router, it has to do with some configuration on my BB Storm 2.

There isn't a time-table to describe how long the Wifi connection is on, it suddenly stops responding and the EDGE sign appears after the Wifi connection was lost. It appears to be an intermittent issue, as the Wifi connection appears to come and go.

Any ideas out there? Someone told me to format my device, but I don't know how to do that, and I don't know if that's a good idea.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does it happen with other WiFi connections also or just your router?

I have a Linksys wrt54g2 that has never worked right with my S2 but works fine with laptops, iphone, blu ray....
The 3 other Wifi's ap's I have work with no problems at all on my S2.

I have set up that wrt54g2 in every conceivable way and it wont work. Set up as a router it has the same problem you have. Set up as an ap it will get an ip from the router but nothing else on that subnet can see it. The router that gave it the ip cant even ping it.

Anyway try a different Wifi to see if it happens all the time.

Check out DD-WRT firmware for you router.
It works great! Just get the right version for your router so watch even the version number of your hardware.
That helps, but I have had random connect, disconnect issues since going to .607

I've tried different wifis and still no luck, therefore I don't think it's my router at all.

I have DD-WRT on my Wireless Repeater and still no luck. I have two Wifi spots at home and the problem appears on both. Could I have a faulty phone?
