I still don't understand how to make the Yahoo messenger run on data and not sms on Verizon network..please help

I don't think this is something you can control. From what I understand, messages from Yahoo or MSN are treated as txt messages by Verizon. Nothing you can do about it.

THis is why I have unlimited txting.

Ok, I have seen several posts about this today and I'm dumbfounded why you think these services are being charged to you as texts? I've been using Yahoo IM, Nimbuzz, AIM, etc for 8 months and not a single MMS/SMS charge as a result.

i think youd have to get a 3rd party messaging client for it to run off data.. someone correct me me if im wrong?

Yes...if you install the actual Yahoo Messenger and NOT the Verizon branded garbage then it will use the data and not SMS/MMS.
