I was wonder if there is a 3rd party SMS texting application that resembles that of the iphone. It would be nice to have something that kept your text a little more organized.

What you are referring to is "threaded" SMS... Where a conversation with someone stays in one "txt" almost like IM'ing.

I admit, it's a nice feature, I used to use a program for Windows Mobile that did it, hopefully someone will make one for the Storm...

I doubt it. The storm itself displays all the sms you've sent and received from a single person as well.

the only thing I hate about 3jam is it delivers txts to the program but also to your sms inbox folder so you have to click the sms inbox also so it gets rid of displaying that you have new messages. An iphone threaded app would be awesome though!

The storms system is cluttered to me.....every time you text it creates a new log....would be way nicer if it would just be stored under the person name....

You won't see a solution to this due to the "security" restrictions placed on the system. Developers can send texts from an app and receive incoming ones.

The problem is when you receive a message, the system gives the developer no way to delete or hide the message from the SMS Inbox.

Therefore, you have two places to go to clean up SMS messages. Not the most graceful solution to me. If people can deal with that then it is do-able.

3jam works really well with the storm. Just make sure u disable compatibility then do battery pull. Works well and ur not restricted to 160 characters like in normal sms I believe.

I like the "threaded SMS" that the BB devices already have.

and BB messenger solves that as well....

It was ok, but was hoping for side to side threading....my reply on one side...theirs on the other. With bot on one side, not really any better than the BB SMS.

Also, would be nice if it replaced or at least acknoleged the BB SMS so you didn't have to go to both to ack the message.

Deleted mainly for the first reason though. Good start.

If you cannot access the notification indicators at the top - can you set the messages themselves to read? I rely too much on the indicators.

In the SMS folder go to Options> General Options> Display New Message Indicator> Change to OFF. Doesn't prevent the messages from going to the SMS Inbox but keeps the indicator from showing.
