Storm resets everytime it connects through USB to computer

I am borrowing a friends phone because mine died I have all my info backed up but cant put it on the Storm because it will not connect to my computer. I have tried to put a newer OS on it but it will not fully install and hangs at reconnecting to JVW. I am running 5.0.0.238 Verizon was able to get it backup and running because after I tried to install a new OS it would not go all the way through. How can I allow my computer to connect to my phone so I can install all my contacts with out changing the OS because that will not work.

I was able to use bluetooth to allow me to restore all of my contacts and everything else. I do not trust having to upgrade your OS with out the battery in the phone after all of that.

You need to try and new USB cable. Your cable is the cause of the reset each time you plug it in. I have had that problem and it happens with one cable and not with another cable.
