Telling people that they should have returned their phones since they have 30 days is moot.

SO many people were counting on OS updates it's not even funny.

The people who were keeping their fingers crossed day-to-day for an official release got screwed after they waited past 30 days.

And telling people to update to an unofficial OS is unacceptable.

People should not have to update to any UNOFFICIAL OS what so ever.

    Period.

    Double period for that matter.

I think having a rant section would be great so people that dislike the storm can vent with out hearing from the storm fanboys. I swear some are worse than the iphone fanboys. Everyone knows this phone was not right. Even the ceo what did he say oh yea "we didn't get it right

I found out last month a friend bought a storm I was happy. Asked him how he liked he loved I then asked what OS he's on look at me funny so I looked it was .65 ouch. So I updated him to .75 and he loves his storm the same. I tried to update to a higher build no go tried to get him to come to CB. His remark was these sights do more harm the good. I was shocked. Any ways he's still rock. .75 and so are 750,000+ plus storm users who are happy with storm.

    OP...

I respect what you're saying and to a certain point i agree.

However, I'm one of the few that has a 'good' Storm, if you will...no hardware issues, and thanks to a leaked OS, VERY FEW software issues. I CHOSE to install a leaked OS over giving up on the phone simply because i love the touchscreen technology and beautiful screen over the physical keys and outdated screen resolution of the Curve (which i still have). Should we HAVE to load a leaked OS to make it work? Nope. I agree with that, but until VZW finds the OS they're lookin for that's all we (who love it and wanna keep it) have. Many people are on their 3rd, 4th, even 5th Storm because they CHOSE not to give up on it.

And VZW will let you exchange it for something else if you throw a big enough fit.

As far as the 'haters' not wanting to hear the 'fanboys', well that works both ways. And just like you think its GREAT that some of us have good phones, i for one think it SUCKS that you don't, cuz it really is a kick a$$ phone.

This battle has been going on since the phone came out and it will continue on for as long as RIM produces a touchscreen phone. There's already the same debates going on about the Storm 2 and it don't even exist yet.

The 'haters' have solid ground to stand on with their complaints, and the 'fanboys' do too. Call me a fanboy if ya want, but i love getting my email pushed to me. I love sending MMS. I love the way the phone looks, love the way it feels, love the way it functions. But that's just me. I don't like the iPhone. But that's just me.

You can rant all ya want and i can rave all i want. But we'll BOTH catch heat from the other side. Someone can tell me I'm lying or in denial about my Storm working just fine all they want. They can also come use it for a week and prove it to themselves.

And for what its worth....i think there should be 1 rant thread and 1 rave thread.

I wonder... instead of creating two different threads - because (I think it was Patches that made this point earlier) it is good that prospective device users can come to one place and get both sides of the story - How about OPs accurately titling their posts? I know this wont stop people that are looking to instigate conflicts, but neither will separating the threads.

If you don't want to read a bunch of complaints about the Storm, don't click on a thread titled "Storm 2 is a slap in the face of Storm 1 owners" (only used that one because it is right here where I can see it). Likewise, if you are sick of hearing about how great the phone is because you got a bad one (or six), don't click on the fictional "OMFG!!! the storm is the best thing since internet porn!!!!"

I know it has been said before, but really, is it that hard?

Honestly, I'm glad some of you are very happy with your Storms. That's GREAT. But for many of us this phone has been a bloody disaster. We're not interested in hearing others say "stop whining." If you had these issues you'd understand why people are unhappy. The Storm is a lousy phone in more ways than I care to list.

I think the best thing to do would be for the Mods to make a separate section for storm Rants. Those who are happy with their phone can stay out...and those who are tired of their Storm can complain all they want. Frankly, I think having an outlet for all the frustration caused by this phone is the only reason more of them aren't flung at the wall.
or maybe just stop posting or better yet make your own forum page... you all say the same thing when you complain and you always have no backup, no proof, no reason, and its always how can i get a different phone....YOU HAD 30 DAYS...YOU CAN TELL IN 5 IF YOUR GOING TO LIKE A PHONE OR NOT...WHY DID YOU WAIT? and saying because they said there was going to be an os is not a reason.

    OMG you're a trip dude

I failed to mention earlier…im on my 3rd Storm…i sold the first 2 i had because of the problems with .75 AND because i had no knowledge of leaked OS's.

It only took me a week both times to realize that.

Its not worth asking for, venting or ******** on this forum. All you have are every person who is in love with the storm bashing all who HATE it and have had problems. Try blackberry community support forums,

BlackBerry Support Community Forums - BlackBerry 9500 Series Smartphone - BlackBerry Storm - BlackBerry Support Community Forums

This site is not worth much if you knock the "almighty storm" in any way!! Stay away from most of these kindergarden mentality tools!

    Good Luck!

    Classy...

I explained why I kept it. I thought the device had great potential and was promised several times that an OS upgrade would remedy many of my issues. Given RIM's history of releasing usable products and updating them as well as what I'd read here, I decided to wait for the OS. Now I'm sorry if that answer doesn't satisfy you, but I don't owe you $hit. It's a free country and a free forum. So take your loud attitude and even louder font somewhere else. The entire reason I started this thread was to create an area where people could avoid rude obnoxious comments like yours.

bottom line is everyone complains one way or the other. If you think you're gonna have a hot ol' storm bashing thread and not get fanbois running to its defense then you're ignorant. Instead you can be productive with your time and energy and provide constructive feedback on how to resolve whatever issues you experienced or get a new phone and move on. This thread is a waste of time honestly. Disicussing what discussions are allowed to be discussed where and what discussions can't be discussed where? C'mon grow up a little

again because you thought an os release was coming is not a reason to have kept it.
