This is an available upgrade that's within my Desktop Manager with a description that says: Local installation of BlackBerry 4.7.0.107 for 9530 ....but the version still says 4.7.0.75???

Can someone explain this to me? Is it an upgrade? The version still being 4.7.0.75 has me thrown

    That's what I thought too, but I'm running the 4.7 already. ???

I don't know....I just wasn't sure about sending it to my phone without knowing what it is. I mean, I know it's from RIM but still.

I'm sorry...I'm still fairly new. What's the "package version"?

Package Version is the RELEASE VERSION.

    9530AMEA_PBr4.7.0_rel107_PL4.0.0.94_A4.7.0.75_Verizon

That's the filename. See the rel107? That's release/package version. Nothing special, just that most people on here reference the app version rather then the release version when we talk about versions of OSs.

Ok gotcha! SO downloading this is sorta....irrelevant? Or should I just go ahead with it just because it's available?

If you have version .75 already then it will do nothing.

QFT, it only shows up because DM doesn't detect a local install of a valid RIM OS for your device (no c:\program files\common files\research in motion\Shared directory exists on your PC)
