Storm dies quick, takes forever to reboot, and randomly shuts off
- Hey everyone I really need some help,
My Storm is killing the battery so very fast and I think there is something with the phone that is making my battery junk..
1) The phone will randomly shut off...the automatic shut off option isn't the issue it's turned off.
2) When I turn my phone back on it takes 2 times as long to get going as my husbands storm.
3) A fully charged battery will only give me 5 min of talk time.
Any help would be great!!
Thank you05-14-10 02:03 PMLike 0 - My first suggestion would be to wipe your phone either using options --> security options --> security wipe or BBSAK (after a back up of course) and then restoring everything from factory and seeing if the battery is still the issue or if it was an OS issue05-14-10 02:56 PMLike 0
- Same thing seems to be popping up around here:

Mine will die almost instantly. In some cases it will die 30 seconds after being unplugged. Sometimes it'll go upwards of an hour. It happened all at once - never had issues prior. All of a sudden the battery just stopped working. The backlight will usually turn off (with the data still on the screen if you look closely), then it'll reboot. It may come back from a reboot, it may just reboot perpetually. If I plug it in during the reboot it will say the battery is anywhere between 5% and 75% (it's never below 75% on the crash.) In any case it will show fully charged in less than 10 minutes, which is very bothersome.
I had the phone replaced, and it's still happening, so it's clearly a battery issue (the other phone had other issues for the replacement, too.) Now I need to go have that replaced.
In any case I'm on Storm #5.05-18-10 11:28 PMLike 0 -
- I'm gonna say its the battery as well based on my recent experience. My storm would die in about 6 hours and would reboot if I used media player or browsed the net. It would go into an endless reboot until I put it on a charger. Would show dead battery on reboot and then would be fully charged in about 10 minutes as well. I thought my Storm was dying and i'd have to get a refurb. I went into my local vzw store and asked for a new battery, guy was like "you know they're $40", insinuating I should just give up on the phone. Bought new battery, popped it in and it was like having a new phone all over again. Give it a shot, saved me upgrade costs, kept me in my NE2, and I get a chance to wait for a 6.0 designed device.
