I have a 08' silverado with a stock radio in it. My radio has an AUX port for mp3 players. I know it will work with my ipod, but it will not work with my storm. Anytime I plug my storm into to my radio to outsource the media player music, my storm just says something about 'not recognizing format' or something along those lines. Anyone have a clue on how to fix this issue?

I had zero issues using my storm to play Pandora, Slacker, or as an MP3 player except when I first tried to use it with a hard case, the case I used didn't allow the 3.5mm jack to plug in all the way making the sound quality stink. I either have to use a soft cover or no cover which allows me to plug in the cable all the way. Other than that, it works great on my 2007 Altima

No issues here on my car (aftermarket Eclipse head).

It should see the aux line from the car as a pair of headphones. The jack have 3 stripes on it?

I would backup your music and reformat your card. Someone also suggested replacing the cable. It should work.

does the music work when it isn't plugged into your stereo or that particular stereo cable? can you play it through the built in speakers or the headset that came with it?
