I had a Storm 1 and was on a Tour, Then VZW called and offered me the Storm 2 so I went for it. It seems my S2 signal strength keeps fluctuating , Starts 4 bars to 2 to none and back to 4 and all in the same area. Has anyone seen this or know how to correct this? I searched and only found a thread about removing or flipping the SIM card on a tour.

I've had a similar problem. I sometimes have no bars at all for no reason.

I have noticed the same thing on my BB Tour. Try laying your BB on a table and see if the signal increases. It seems on my device my hand attenuates the signal. Anybody else notice this on hheir BB?

I had this with my Tour but it was not as noticable, I did remove the Sim card from the tour and that seemed to help but this is not the case with the S2. I have not dropped any calls it just seems the bars show a weaker signal. I am also having problems downloading App world items tonight, the connection keeps timing out..Ugh!

Yes I also notice this fluctuation all the time. Goes from full bars to no bars back and forth. Doesn't seem to affect the performance in data or calls for me though. Weird.

I had this problem with both my S1, and now my S2. I don't know why it does it. I always go look at the signal dbm and that is usually more accurate.

Long standing issue....Going back as far as as the 7250.....(2004ish)....

It actually has no FUNCTIONAL impact, for some reason, the meter just fluctuates, while the signal itself remains the same...

That is what I have noticed. I htink maybe its an OS problem or something.

Same thing with my Tour, hated the fluctuating signal. Then a leak came out and it fixed it on my Tour.

I am also seeing it on my 9550 but not as bad as my Tour. Hoping a future OS release will take care of this issue.

Mine doesn't seem to influence the performance either. I just made a call with no bars and it worked flawlessly.

this is the reason i had to return my s2. I travel the same stretch of highway everyday and noticed my tour would get me at least two miles or more of talk time before i would lose signal and drop my call. My tour performs alot better as in signal strength, but i miss that big *** screen I may just suck it up and grab another s2. I mean who talks on there blackberry anyways

I have huge fluctuations in my signal as well. I'll be sitting next to my bf with the same model (S2) and he have a full signal and I'll be at MAYBE one bar. What's the deal?

No deal....it happens, but your signal is most often fine...so ignore it and enjoy your storm2
