Storm 2 - New Owner

I picked up a 9550 yesterday for peanuts. It's in really good condition, and I'd like to use it around the house as a WiFi device, including apps, email, etc. I'm no stranger to bbos, but it's been a long time since I messed around with a bbos device, so I'd like to know the best place to get apps, and I'd like to know if there is a way to set up email without BIS. Is there a list or database somewhere that lists apps that still work on 5.0?
