I personally hate phones like the voyager with a touch screen and a physical keyboard. IMO it defeats the purpose of the touch screen.
Besides, a marketing point for the storm was that Surepress allowed you to type more accurately then a plain touch screen. As long as they improve there's no need for a slide out keyboard.

i agree the voyager was just aweful as a touchscreen phone. Some ppl like the haptic feedback clicking of the storm others do not. i just think an option should be implemented to just touch instead of click if you want to.
really the only design flaw the storm has is internal and thats no wifi
maybe the storm will be beast and support wireless n?
i thought the 99xx that was coming had both touch and keyboard
I was going to say that i disagree with this, then I realized that the only way i ever used my Voyager was by flipping it open. It was ridiculously rare for me to even touch the screen. I think I just liked how clean it made the front of the phone look.
Anyway, I like the Storm keyboard the way it is. I pretty love everything about the phone except for the lag. That said, if they work on the OS, which I think someone above mentioned already, I would be content. I enjoy the tactile feedback from the Storm but would be unwilling to sacrifice screen size. Perfect the current design, possibly allow option to disable surepress (options improve just about everything), and, while it's not needed, I do feel that Wifi would greatly improve the situation.
My $.02
If you hate it why did you buy the phone? If sure press is fantastic if the storm 2 doesn't click I am not buying it. In fact I see no reason to buy a storm 2 as of now the only thing it is bringing to the table is wi fi which is not woety upgrading for alone. This phone is fantastic.

I heard from a friend who works at Verizon that Sure Press is not going to be a feature on the Storm 2...
There's supposed to be a different screen on the storm 2, that's not surepress. Also, I would not want this phone to come out with a slide out keyboard, there are already plenty of LG's and HTC's that do that
I agree. If they want to make a phone that's touch screen with keyboard it should bea completely Different phone

yeah.. slide out keyboards are for the little kids.. isnt that why we have blackberries.. and if anyones seen the reports.. theyre supposed to have a new touchscreen.. not surepress but truepress now i think?
I agree that RIM should just make an option to disable surepress on the keyboard. It seems like that would satisfy more people than a slider.
But they don't even need a new phone to do that. If they bundled that with OS 5.0 then the storm would probably be pretty much solid.

Is it Storm 2 or a second touchscreen BB. I don't see why they have to be one and the same.
Basically I doubt they would kill off the line of Surepress Touchscreen phones.
They keep a sure press keyboard for us fat fingerers or it levels the playing field for the other smart phones out there next time I am up unless they still have the Storm available at that time.
I think your right.. Truepress instead of surepress is whats been rumored..
If you want a real keyboard get a Bold...the Storm is a touchscreen phone, honestly after using this phone since it's release I could never go back to a hard keypad...I love the touch type :D Plus I think a sliding keypad would make the phone look cheap...I never liked the slider phones
No Keyboard. The End.
that was a very good read. man am i glad my contract is up for renewal in a about 6 months
Speculating and dreaming is fun. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lmao. how do you figure?
Seriously?! if you want to get a phone with touch and slide out keyboard, you might as well go with a HTC or a samsung, or wait for the palm pre... cause honestly, if you got the Storm for texting features and want to text "fast" you bought the wrong phone buddy.
I honestly LOVE the surepress, and if they take it away from the Storm 2, then what the **** is even the point of calling it a new "storm"?! when they're innovation was to bring out a phone with a "different feel" to a average touch screen. seriously though, if you want a keyboard with a phone and a lightweight one, wait for the palm pre, your better off.
and if you still want a storm without surepress and Wi-Fi then go get your damn iPhone, cause honestly, the surepress touch screen is what MAKES the storm the storm, not a normal everyday "touch sensitive" screen.
I hope I proved my point, but really, Storm 2 with NO SURE PRESS SCREEN?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?! it would make it just another touch screen phone, and less unique... but if you're having clicking problems, there's threads about it to make the click loud and effective like the commercial. I personally use 2 Jim Dunlop picks at .60 ratio/thickness (it's also helpful just encase I lose my picks I leave in my pocket or on my guitar xD) but I put 2 to line up in a certain way and to cover where the button would be.
but REALLY!............RIM is pure FAIL if they take it out.
agreed if the new "storm" is to have a keyboard thats not touch screen then they better all it a hailstorm or something cause "storm 2" would be crap. it implicates the touch feature to much with those who have them or can relate. i think the next black berry should have otterbox included with the upgrade or new contract so when we all get all pissed off with them right away we can throw them and not have all the guilt of throwing a 500+ phone......ha ha ha hah ah ha........just an idea
wifi and a option not to have to click is all im asking for ;p
This is a CONSUMER feature for The Hills-watching, TXTING wannabes
haha epic quote and opinion lmao.
RIM more or less resolved this issue. The method would be through releasing the Blackberry Bold. Storm-quality screen and Curve-like keyboard.
