Sorry - I'll just never understand this type of mentality. Already set to dive in and plunk down your cash without so much as having even touched the phone or reading a single consumer review. Just seems silly to me.
I like my 9530 too, and will qualify for and upgrade around Xmas, but can't possibly see how anyone would be willing to purchase "Storm 2" because they "assume" it's going to be a better phone. Lack of informed purchases seemed to have plagued the current offering almost as much as a poor O/S - you'd think people would learn. Guess not.
That said, I realize there are plenty of people willing to part with their $ for the newest technology as soon as it's made available. I'm not saying "Storm 2" won't be a good phone - maybe it will, maybe it won't - time will tell.
My point is that there is just no way to make that determination at this particualr time, yet so many are willing to jump right on it.
bottom line is this:
IF any trade in policy is allowed (which it won't be in the scenario you're all hoping for) it will be with the mfgr, not the carrier.
and RIM offers a trade up program in their owner's lounge on their website. go check it out. but you're gonna get a portion of what you're device is worth towards the new device, and idk how that impacts warantee with VZW.
