I work with storms everyday and honestly just noticed something. A Storm with the preinstalled memory card taken out and not using a memory card runs a lot quicker than a storm with a memory card in it. I have tried this on multiple phones and I have seen a huge difference, even on my personal storm. Granted some ppl would not want to do this because they use a lot of media..... But try it and let me know how it works.

My Storm seems to be running faster and help with the memory issues that everyone has been talking about.

I noticed the storms in the verizon store running .75 today running way faster than mine ever did on .75. I bet that's because they don't have the media card in them, very interesting.

Yea storms at Verizon don't have the media card in them. Trust me this speeds up your phone a lot. I'm still trying to figure out if it helps battery life too.

The factory media card is only a class 2 card. You will notice different speeds with a high class card. (I.e. Class 6)
So its really not about removing your microsd card and doing without, but to get a better one.

This is the class 6 8GBcard from A-DATA found on Newegg.com
$17 for this card is a sweet deal

Just took it out, rebooting and will report back.

If this is the case, this is unacceptable! The SD card feature should not adversely affect the speed of the storm!

Would this make a difference? To me it seems that the slow down is persistent. A class six, although it may speed up media and such, it isn't being constantly relied on for the phone to function as the OS isn't on the SD card.

Though a boost in the speed of accessing media will be there.

    I could be wrong.

The storm can handle a 32gb SD card, which is the largest they have out currently.

Why would you thing that? It's the same as accessing data on your hard disk on your PC vs. a DVD drive (or similar).

Supposedly the class is not going to affect the speed of the storm much, from what ive heard it only makes accessing the card quicker between transfers from pc to card ALTHOUGH, ive debated this for awhile now and have been waiting for someone to actually buy a class 6 to try it.

Im anxious! Let me know how it works out!
