Are everybody's sound profiles working right? I can't seem to get a custom profile to do what it's supposed to anymore. I want one that silences the email alerts at work, and otherwise keeps all other normal profile settings. But an incoming call just caused it to vibrate instead of ring, or occasionally ring with the wrong tone (one I haven't set to anything). I downgraded to 103, and still have the problem. Any suggestions? Or is this a problem with all recent leaks I just now noticed?

The sound profiles have NEVER worked correctly for me. I was on .75 and tried everything possible to no avail. I updated to .103 and they STILL DON'T WORK correctly. I guess it is too much to ask not to have my phone ring in the middle of a meeting.

No. They worked fine until recently but now I get a reminder tone every minute after receiving emails regardless of the sound profile I have selected.

All my profiles work as designed.

Those of you with profile issues under the new OSs need to connect to DM and go into Backup/Restore and then Advanced and CLEAR the Profile database on your phone because you've botched something with it.

I will try that, thanks. What could I have done to mess it up? Just installing a beta OS?

And I did that but all my settings are still there... I assumed they'd disappear.

ETA: Still not working right assuming I did the clear correctly.

If you cleared the profiles database, there's no way your settings would still be there.

The one I cleared was called "Profiles Options." Even did a battery pull and all my settings are still there. Tried it twice. The only other option that looks like it could be related is "Sounds."

Any insight as to whether I picked the wrong database?

    It's the Sound Profiles Database.

The only sound setting I've ever had an issue with is the unique tone I set to notify of an incoming Blackberry Instant Message. Storm vibrates but the sound did not play in either .75 or now in .109. The tone to indicate a reply has been received once in a chat session works fine. All my other ring tones and sound settings were preserved perfectly after the update from .75 to .109.

I had similar problems after upgrading. I opened the ringtones folder and deleted the BBTHUMBS dat file then when back into my media>ringtones folder. It did a quick scan of the folder and now everything works. Im def not a BB genius so I'm not completely sure what this accomplishes but it worked for me.

Ah, thank you. I did them at the exact same time instead of one immediately after the other and my custom profile disappeared, but my other sound settings remained intact.

Unfortunately... I'm still getting the wonky reminder tones, too.

You have issues then. At this point you might need to do a security wipe and just sync your info over (not restore because that'll put the bad info back on there).
