Solution to battery drain in 9520 with 607
- See this case.
I Wake up at 8 and unplug 9520 from charger. Go to work tweeting and posting to Facebook, webbrowsing... I received about 30 mails and one call. Posted about 15-20 tweets, 4 with photo.
Now is 10 pm and I still have 70% of battery. How did I do it?
Turning off the 3G. Only use it for streaming.
Well, after some experimenting I reached the conclusion that the radio of the .607 is so bad that it loses connectivity to BIS very often while on 3G, and not on 2G. I live in Barcelona city and there are no problems with 3G reception. Never had them with other OSes.
Please, those with batt drain problems, could you check if this is a common fail of the .607?
Let me see your comments.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-04-10 03:16 PMLike 0 - My reception with 607 is STELLAR. No matter where I go with the phone, with the exception of the fringes of Corpus Christi, TX. If I'm in some buildings there, the reception is very spotty. Everywhere else I travel with my phone, reception is perfect "enough" to be considered "perfect".06-04-10 03:22 PMLike 0

- Worth a try. Funny how different this can be. My 9000 battery was best on 2G but my 9700 was actually better on 3G. I did´nt think to test it on the 9520 because I thought the "better" 3G radio was inherent on .569+ os's regardless of the device.
So I give this a try even though i´m running .669 (no DRM) which is far better than .580 but better battery would in any case be warmly welcomed06-04-10 05:50 PMLike 0 - You can only turn off your "3G" if you are on a GSM network. In which case you would go into your mobile network options and change your network mode to "2G".06-05-10 10:27 PMLike 0
