I mean it is written by an Apple guy, but it appears to show the RIM is dominating the market. The Satisfaction levels could be concerning, but maybe it took a hit with the rough start of the storm?
"However, among those planning to buy a smart phone in the next 90 days, RIM has the edge over Apple. The BlackBerry rose from 30 percent to 39 percent, while the iPhone fell from 34 percent to 30 percent."
Pretty good. The point of the Storm is to not necessarily take the Iphones customers away, but to get/prevent new ones from going to the Iphone, and deciding on the Storm while at the same time, taking market share away from the other manufacturers. See once the Storm gets sorted out and word of mouth spreads, there might be some defectors, but that doesn't "have" to happen to be successful. It's just a plus. As you see in the article, RIM new customer market rose while Apple's dropped.
Very good point. It would be tough to be a so called "iPhone" killer considering it was first to market and has a large piece of the market. That being said it looks like RIM is doing a very good job of maintaining and apparently increasing it's piece of the pie.
