I'm still on .75 and have no real issues with it, other than speed. I haven't had any "resets" or anything like that - knock on wood - since I installed it.
As far as these Beta releases are concerned, keep in mind that they're nothing more than bug fixes. Also keep in mind that bug fixes in Beta many times introduce new bugs - that's why they're still in Beta.
The next real release should be a version number like 4.7.1.0, which would mean a minor enhancement version, a number such as 4.8.0.0 would mean a minor release, and a major release would be 5.0.0.0.
Notice the numbering scheme: major.minor.enhancement.bugfix
In my opinion upgrading from n.n.n.75 to n.n.n.1000 would be negligible at best, especially if it's still in Beta.
