I am leaving the country and have an unlocked Storm2 from Verizon; I was just curious if anyone knew whether it would work in that part of the world?

They must have at least wifi, gprs or edge to work!

Unlock it before you leave and you should be able to use it (at least as a phone) on their GSM network after purchasing a local SIM card.

Saw you have ATT and T-Mobile. Are you using Verizon service with the storm 2? If so...

Activate global email service before you leave with vzw global services, 800-711-8300. It will be $65 / month blackberry service (in place of your usual $30), and you can call when you get back and deactivate it. It will pro-rate for the time you use it on your bill. It works great, and works almost everywhere there is modern civilization that I've been. Have fun!

My last Blackberry was the Tour and I unlocked it and it worked with a Russian SIM card when I was in St. Petersburg. I switched to Verizon and got a Storm2 which I recently unlocked. I think I'm going to try a Kazakhstani SIM card, because I am going to be going for 27 months to do Peace Corps service and I'd rather just pay as I go while I'm there. Thanks for all the info though.

did u somehow managed to get ur blackberry internet service worked in any of the kazakh networks? if yes how and which network? i have the same problem... HELPPP!!!
