As far as I know that is the only way? Why can't you/don't you want to do it through email?

Are you talking about getting the broswer working because that you can go through the host table?

    Need some more info...

Ok goto options > advanced options > host routing table > hit bb button > register now

Then give it about 2 minutes, let me know what happens...

I tried the net still no luck. Says unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. I have another phone that works fine on my carrier. The only difference is in the service books it says WAP and WAP 2 on the one that works on the net and the other doesnt say it.

registering and sending service books are two different things. you will have to log into the BIS site online through your carrier to send service books. google your carrier + BIS

Log into your BIS site from your computer and tell it to send the service books to your handset.

its ask for my esn dec number and I do not see one in the options status menue. Just a MEI DEC number. I put that in and then it says that this phone is under another provider. I think because it is originally a verizon phone. Should I go to the verizon bis site instead of the appalachian

Nope.. easy fix all you should have to do is update your data network by dialing *22899 send. Once it says successful go back into your host routing table and re-register. Then the email settings should work so you can resend the service books.

It says call failed as soon as i push the green phone button when I dial *22899. Activation unsuccessful. I always had to dial ##000000 to go to edit menu

I also use *228 to update my phone. That works but nothing changes.

at this point i would suggest you start to search for the different issues you have. it sounds like your phone is unlocked and you need to get it set up to use on the new carrier from scratch. go through the forum and read over steps on unlocking and setting up. these questions have all been answered, and i think you will find the answers faster than anyone can come in here and answer all of them for you.

Has email ever worked for you? As one of the previous posters mentioned, you are using an unlocked Storm on a network that may not support it. It looks like you are using a small, regional carrier, meaning you should go into a carrier specific forum (e.g. here or howardforums) and ask around for settings changes. Getting these devices to work on networks they're not intended for isn't easy.

No it hasnt every worked. I just had the phones actived on Monday. There were problems with both. The tech guys at my carrier were able to fix one but not the other one. Yes the phone is unlocked but if it works on one phone it should work on the other. I just cant figure out what setting is different. I have compared all the I know could be different.

you will need to basically find service books from another carrier to get your phone to work. there are threads about that. im presuming you've already read the threads about getting the phone to work with ATT and t-mobile?

That is only for Verizon Wireless (*22899)...

And it is not recommended to use that any more... You should just dial *228 and then opt. 1

There is absolutely no difference! You'll find some tech support guys that will say there is... there's not. It's faster and it only updates data services instead of your service too. 90% of the time *228 won't do anything for email troubleshooting.. trust me.
