Just d/led the new version. Glad to hear the mem leak is fixed. Love this app. So great that I can now hold the phone on my shoulder without hitting the speakerphone button! Why the heck didn't RIM think of this issue in testing anyway?
5: How do I customize the background image on the lock screen?
A: Obtain a PNG format image file of your desired background. The image should be 360 pixels wide and 480 pixels tall. Save this on the device in the home/user folder of Device Memory with the name TalkLock-Background-png. You must do a full reboot before the background to restart TalkLock with the new background.
good job just changed my picture but man oh man it was a pain in the arse...since I was trying to get the picture to fit between the cellavant info and the slider. Finally got it though.
So I think this is a glitch.. try it out for yourselves. When I hold down the BB Menu key and bring up the current applications, and then try clicking on the TalkLock app it freezes up until I rotate to portrait. No big deal, but maybe something that was overlooked.
Update: this only happens when done from landscape. from portrait it flashes the background picture.
I had the same issue with not seeing anything using windows explorer. What I found that works.... connect the storm, open DM, let the synch and search for update complete, start your media, start the media program (left hand button).... at that point I get two popup autoplays - use either of them to explore the device using windows explorer.... you should see both blackberrys (device and media card).... under device you will then see the folders.... put the .png into the home/user folder itself.... not into any of the subfolders.
Is there a way to instal the program and then easily enable or disable it? For instance the program AutoLock has this feature in options>autolock. I can then pick disable or enable. It would be great to implement a similar feature for TalkLock. I keep my storm in a holster and use a bluetooth most of the time, so I don't need TalkLock on most days - I'd rather not have it running if I don't need it. But, when I go skiing (or in the summer biking), I have the Storm loose in my pocket and will then be worried about erroneous screen clicking, either with a wired heaset into my helmet or with my ear. So, it would be great to be able to quickly activate it before heading out on those days. Any chance this capability is already there and I'm just not seeing it? If not, any chance of developing this in the future?
I would also ask that the slider "spring back" if not pushed all the way over to avoid the creeping slider syndrome...
Thank you for this great app!
I have been asking the same thing. i just dont want stuff running in the background at all. so i want to only have this one when i really need it.
I was running 1.0.0 with no major issues, no random shut downs or any noticable memory leakes (as others were stating)
I just updated to 1.0.1 and it seems like now I am having the issues the others were having with 1.0.0 . Today I was lagging baddly, the available application memory was bouncing all around, trying to make up its mind but still leaking 10mb in a few hours and had 2 phone freezes and a " 503 error" forcing me to pull the batt.
Now I have been running .83 with almost zero issues up untill today. I get the random hang on the Verizon screen but this is totally different. I have been running WeatherBUG for a few days with no issues. But I have also been running 1.0.0 for a few days as well, all with no problems. It seems as the only new thing I have added is 1.0.1
First im going to try to reload the app. If that doesnt work I am going to try to remove it and see if it is still acting up..
I use my phone as a phone at work ALOT. The battry life was fine until I installed this program. The persistant backlight kills my battery halfway through the day. I haven't downloaded the latest version, does it address allowing the backlight to fade out after a period?
