Rim job-Refurbished Storms
I received my 4th refurbished Storm today. The blackberry button and red button just quit working on my last. I wasn't sure I was getting refurb's until this last phone. It hadn't been that obvious and I kept being told that they were using new phones as replacements. Well, I opened the back after noticing the left side of the screen wouldn't even budge and found surprising stuff. The stickers were missing on the adjustment screws for the screen. Left was gone, right was mangled. There were tool marks all over them. The left screw was backed out so far that it almost fell out. I could push it in and out. And this came directly from RIM, not a 3rd party supplier. So, it seems they are taking someone's return and turning around and shipping them back out again. WITHOUT INSPECTING AT ALL. This thing could not have been inspected. I went right down to a Verizon store and demanded a new in the box phone of which they gave me. It seems to be perfect right now. I've been very patient and making every excuse in the book that they are trying to take care of us. Now I have serious doubts. Verizon or RIM..who's to blame? A verizon rep even defended RIM saying it was Verizon's fault for pushing so hard to release the phone months before it was ready. Sorry for the long post.
