if your talking about the button on bottom that swoops to the left its kind of like go back button. Not a "return key". I am assuming this is why it doesn't seem to work for you.
what its used for is if your in a application and you want to back a screen you hit the button this doesnt exit the application.
If this function is not working then you may have a defective device.
