Resolved! Chinese input in 9530.

- since the tour uses a physical keyboard compared to storm that uses a virtual one, the files here won't work for you. Given the fact that the tour won't be released in the asian market, your chance of getting Chinese input on your device will be very very slim. Sorry08-05-09 08:51 PMLike 0
- I followed your instructions but could not get the apploader to display the input method for Chinese language. I first downloaded .151 from this website
BBCrackman's V7.1.4 -.151 for 9530
then I installed it to the directory you listed on page one by creating the proper folder name. The default folder would have been different from your folder name. I did not install this to the phone (I don't know how to install on the phone). Then I copied the traditional and simplified Chinese cod.zip files from your links, unzipped them and put them into the Java folder as indicated. Then I started the Blackberry Desktop Manager, selected the apploader and was only able to find East Asian Characters and Font Support but I do not have the option to install Chinese under Input and Language Support. I am not sure what to do next. Can you help?
Thanks.

I just recently updated to the same version, and encountered the same problem.
I am currently attempting to try installing another version (preferably East Asian), and just hopes it works with Verizon.09-22-09 10:48 PMLike 0 - For anyone who is curious. I have a BB Tour and I downloaded the folder of what was needed to be dropped in for the Storm for it to work, and I just found those files, individually and dropped them into 5.0.0.230 and it popped up in the app loader for install. I am able to view the phone options in Chinese, but it won't let me switch input languages.
Anyone have any idea? I selected all input ways for installation, also.10-10-09 12:13 AMLike 0 -

- Well, I read a forum from China and followed the instruction to upgrade to .323. Now my Storm running .323 with Traditional Chinese interface and able to use Traditional Chinese input for email (not for SMS however). It also can be used for simplified Chinese interface and input.
I'm not sure if I am allowed to post the source (MAXPDA̳ ݮ-BlackBerry-Palm-PPC-PDA-ֻ̳) here however, the source is in Simplified Chinese anyway? So, I would just translate it to English here.
Remember, upgrade the Storm under the following method as your own risk.
1) install 5.0.0.238 hybrid By Lyricidal, then locate all files that content "cn,chinese,zh,pinyin,hk,big5,jp,jis,johab,ksc5601 ,tw,kr,ch,japan, koreon,ko" under .238/.230 JAVA folder.
2) Copy those files to the JAVA folder of installed .323. Replace them duplicated files.
3) Copy the CJK.alx from the root of .238 to .323, replace the exiting one in .323.
4) use loader.exe or BBSAK to upgrade your storm as normal.
This is the first time I post such instruction/method so hope ppl understand my wording. - Got Chinese Input on my Verizon Storm II 9550
Had to use several software version (9550/9520/one other BB non Storm Model's Language File) and install COD one by one.
I now have Version 320/306/190 mixed, and so far so good
Simplified Chinese/Traditional Chinese/HK Chinese Input Methods
Tested Traditional Strokes method / Taiwan BoPoMoFo Input method / Wubi Input Method in both Traditional and Simplified ---- worked fine. Could not test ChangJie --- don't know how to write Chinese that well, did not test HK input method --- don't speak Cantonese well.
I wish I can post a clear instruction on how to do this but I can't because I've tried so many different ways that I am so confused at this point to say what to install first what to install second.
Here's the general rule, load Verizon 9550/320 first, get everything you want installed (extra applications) then back up all the files with Desktop Software or BBSAK, then get 9520/306 or it may even work with just 190 which was what I did the first time I got it to work except I wanted the extra things that came with the 9550/320 so I wiped the device and couldn't figure out how I got it to work in the first place.
Do not use the Desktop Software to load COD, it will delete all the Chinese Input methods. Use BBSAK.
Good Luck !!11-28-09 11:47 PMLike 0 - Good news for people, who use the 5.0.0.419 here:
