    Hello,

I read somewhere to try removing SIM and it might speed things up a bit, because it removes the phones option to switch networks or something.

I tried removing the sim but it seems like i cannot get a grip on it to get it out. How did you remove it?

And has anyone had any success with this trick? Any noticeable difference?

I thought our phones rely on the SIM for our phone number and service?

The Sims only use. Is for over seas communication. I don't see how it could speed up process speed.

It was said that with the chip in, the phone is constantly checking to see which network it should be connecting on. With the chip out, it eliminates that process.

If this is complete BS let me know lol

Or you can just go to your network settings and change it from Global to 1xev and it does the same thing.

Just go to Options, Mobile Network. Under Mobile Network, change Network Technology to "1XEV." This takes the SIM card out of the equation. Only GSM networks (AT&T, T-Mobile, & Nextel [don't forget about iDEN!]) use SIM cards. CDMA (Verizon, Sprint, Alltel) use ESNs (electronic serial numbers).
