Do you have any other email applications on you phone, like gmail? On my curve, that would have a new message waiting even though I cleared it online. Sometimes the phone just liked to blink after I read all my messages, for no reason.
If it that doesn't fix it and it keeps bugging you, try a soft reset.
I'm getting this too.... noticed that it happened after I started using visual voicemail. After a little bit, it stops blinking, especially if you do something like make a phone call or get another message, etc.
yea thats when it wouldnt stop blinking, after i used visual voicemail, it never did it any other time i used visual voicemail though, must have just glitched..
Same here. It's some sort of bug in VVM. Hopefully they will fix it with a future release of VVM or if not VVM, maybe the OS is not recognizing that it should shut off the light.
I have found if you make a call or simply wait a while, it goes out.
Matty, and whoever else, I know this is an old post, but if you get the flashing red eye all you need to do is open the VVM program(YouMail for ex) and the red eye should go away, given you dont have any other un-read messages.
Another thing to try if you dont know why it flashes is go to the absolute top of your messages list and do a menu> mark prior opened/read.

when i get a new voice mail and i have the visual voice mail software installed and i listen to the voice mail message and then delete it the red light keeps blinking and it stops blinking after about an hour
I realize this thread has been inactive for a while, but just in case anyone is searching...I discovered that weatherbug will make the red light blink when there is a severe weather warning in the area.
VVM will blink if you get a VM and ignore it, but like someone said above if you just open VVm and close it goes away. Pain I know but that is what it is.
