Anyone ever have their red led light just not work? I know certain leaked os's dont like to set off the light...but I tried that "peekalight" mini app within peekawho, and the "pink" setting came out completely blue. Anyone else have this issue? Or is my red led shot?

Interesting. Your description sounds like the red portion of the LED (not sure if there are separate LED's or if it's a multicolor LED, I assume the latter) is broken.

That sounds like a hardware defect that would be covered under a manufacturer warranty. If you get green and blue with no trouble..

If you do a battery pull, do you get the red LED for a brief period at the bootstrap?

nope, nothing im afraid. Well, I already actually have another storm on the way....this would be number 4. I bricked my old one hard core for a couple days, no led light, no screen, no nothing, and vzw sent is sending me a new one, but i finally got the thing restored.

Considering ebaying berry number 4 and going to the pre when it comes out, it seems like if its not one thing its another with this thing

If the dead red LED Storm goes back to Vzw, I would suggest you mention this problem so it's notated. In theory it will be caught during reconditioning but just in case...it would suck for someone to get a refurbished Storm down the line with busted LED!

Not to go too far away from the topic - but since MMS isn't exactly a feature available out of the box on Sprint smartphones, I have my doubts about the Pre on that matter. Combine with the lack of removable memory and not a global phone and I'm out. I will happily wait for future Android and WebOS phones. I try to get 18 months to two years out of a phone so I've got some time to go yet on my Storm.
