My friend is looking to upgrade his phone. He isn't super technical so I don't think he would like the storm. I was recommending the 9630 tour for him. He is on Verizon. What do you think?

I had a tough time choosing between the Tour and the Storm2 myself but ended up getting the Storm2. In the end, I wanted the bigger screen for web browsing and I liked the surepress alot. I sort of think of the Storm2 as a middle ground between the newer touchscreen phones like iphones and the more traditional physical keyboards of the blackberries.
Don't get me wrong, the Tour is pretty sweet, but it depends if you want to use the trackball and physical keyboard or not. Also, I don't think you need to be any more technical to use a storm2 than to use a tour.
P.S. the tour is about to get discontinued so you might see its price drop in the next month or two.
Tour is good but about to be discontinued. The Tour2(Bold-Verizon version) should be released soon. IMO he should wait for that unless he wants another phone
I think he should go to the store, play with the phones and pick what he likes best. That also get you out of being responsible if he isn't happy. They're all good phones.

Good advice. He might want to consider waiting a month and buying a Tour on ebay to hang on to the upgrade for a better phone in the future (i.e. Tour2).
