I have .90 and just listened to a full album with no reboots. I turned on Shuffle and got a reboot so this warrants further investigation?

Mine rebooted and just froze withe the Bell screen and the clock turning icon. I did a batt. pull, same thing happened. Next I uninstall TalkLock. Then it solved the problem...I think it might has something to do with the conflict the the newly added feature RIM for the screen-lock while you're on the phone. Hope this help someone.

I have the same problem. Reboots in Slacker when using bluetooth. When not using Bluetooth, it seems to be okay.

Edit. It also reboots without Bluetooth too. Seems to reboot more when a large amount of data is being transferred like in Google maps or Viigo.

Shuffle may be a problem. I noticed after I updated to .90 that the media player is defaulted to shuffle. ? I can go a couple hours in between reboots while using media player so I'm not sure if I turned shuffle off after my last reboot or prior to it. I'll see what happens now that its off.

    * I have less then a gig on my card. Downloaded podcasts from iTunes to Desktop Manager.

I had this problem the first time (actually, the first two, one over 86, the other after a wipe) I tried .90 last night. It always occurred while playing music in AAC. I then went back to .86 to confirm it was working with it, and indeed it played those same files fine. Today I reloaded my music with MP3 files and deleted all AACs. I have the 8GB card essentially full. Installed .90 over .86 and have played about two hours without reboots, including albums and shuffle. I've read somebody saying he/she had the reboots even with only MP3s, so I don't know what could be the cause. My only guess would be some kind of conflict with the tag in the music file. All my MP3s use ID3v2. In Vista, their icons show as thumbnails of the album cover. Could it be that ID3v4 (which some programs, like iTunes, use, I think, but Vista doesn't recognize and therefore doesn't display cover art) causes some problem? It doesn't make sense, but the ones affected could try to check that.

I've had .90 for 3 days now and every time I play music it reboots, and then the vzw screen of death comes up unless I pull my memory card (which isn't a problem once it boots up just put memory back in). It's strange as it plays videos just fine.

also had the camera issue where it will take a few pics and then won't save anymore until reboot.

Other than that .90 is great.

I have .mp3 as well as AAC files loaded...since reading this thread, I've done a little testing and I have been able to play continuously without reboot as long as I am only playing the mp3 files...including shuffle (no AAC in the shuffle).

The first AAC file I try to play, my Storm reboots, and if I don't do a battery pull, it comes back, shows me "Media card inserted", and the only thing it will do after that is show me the Verizon boot screen.

I hope they fix this soon, but for now, I'm not going back (to .86), I'm going to convert my AAC files to mp3...

If it works let us know. Also, what are you going to use for the conversion?

We're very proud of you but obviously there is a known problem that many people are experiencing. Your post did nothing toward solving the mystery about what's different with your Storm setup. Are your songs mp3/AAC? How did you transfer them over? What else do you have on your Storm and media card?

Hmmm... despite your sarcasm, that may be a help. I let media manager automatically bring my songs over from itunes- wonder if media manager does anything to the files that wouldn't happen with drag and drop?

Enjoy your pornos- I would suggest a lot of lube in the headphone jack.

well when i drag over all the songs a menu popped up and asked if i wanted to "convert for optimal playback" and i clicked yes. same thing for movies i put on my phone it asked the same question maybe thats why i have no problems with playback

Actually I checked and I used the Roxio Media Sync which specifically brings over itunes stuff. When I get home tonight I'll try the drag and drop.

I think I fixed my problems with the reboot during music playback. First thing I did was convert all my music from AAC to MP3. Then after I dragged and dropped all the music onto my storm I deleted the BBthumbs.dat file which forced it to be rebuilt on the next scan. Since doing this, my .90 OS has yet to crash while playing music (cross my fingers).

Glad it works for you too. Gives me confidence that it will continue to work for me. I listened to music on my train ride home for the first time since I got my Storm and it didn't give me any problems.
