Yes you should follow the instructions in the sticky threads. All should go smoothly and you probably won't need to use the backups but you will be thanking God you have them if something goes wrong.

I have a question. I installed .109 two weeks ago and it did not go well, had to do a backup and then install alll working fine, except for memory leaks. My question is that I lost all of the apps that I had installed. How come they did not save in the backup? What did I do what or do I need to do in the future.

you have to do a third-party backup in addition to the regular back up. check this out: http://forums.crackberry.com/f135/ho...up+third+party
