WHERE has a radar but it is very horrible.
I thought WB did have radar. When I had it on my phone radar was an option. It would overlay the radar image onto the map from BB Maps. It worked fine, but I removed WB because I believe it was the cause of my memory leaks.
I really did like the program though.
I can't speak for an app, but you can bookmark a page from weather underground that has your specific radar on it. If you have QuickLaunch it takes only about 6 seconds to have it load.
WeatherBug has radar overlays. Click on the Map with the magnifying glass. Then click the little 3-pieces of overlayed paper icon at the bottom. then choose radar.

Just takes a little searching in the app :)
Accuweather works great for me, it has an icon on desktop and a menu you can choose radar, forecast, etc...
I use Quicklaunch to go to Accuweather radar page and it works great!
Just bring up the accuweather radar page on your storm, copy the url and paste it into QuickLaunches "add a website". I have it set to open the animated radar for my area.
I am using the radar from http://mobile.weather.gov ...
Very nice / fast and no advertising ... we all paid for it ;)
lol WB radar works fairly well, will be slower than a webpage, but much easier to deal with.
Yupe. I love AccuWeather. It is the best.
I took what you did a step farther because I didn't like how I had to scroll down a bit in order to see the radar. Do exactly what you said, except when you get to the image, click on the image, then hit the BB button, the click on "Image Address", then "Copy Address", then paste the image address in quick launch. It opens up the image only, and fits perfectly in the storm portrait view. I have one QL for stationary radar, and another for the animated one. Once you do that, open up the radar using quick launch, then hit the BB button, scroll down to 'Options', then click 'General Properties'. I changed 'Image Quality' to HIGH, 'Repeat Animations' to AS MANY AS IMAGE SPECIFIES, and click the checkbox to enable full-screen view. Works amazing in portrait mode for the radar
OK, I do not have quicklaunch and I want an icon for a weather app that just opens a radar page, I dont want adds or a forecast. I already have sites that show me the days weather video, and BBweather shows me a bunch of data, but I JUST WANT RADAR. I do not really want to go to accuweather and load that page in my junk BB browser that takes over a minute to load it due to all of the "extra" items it offers me...just radar.
Anybody know of an app or a shortcut that will just load the radar for a given zip code and nothing else?
Iphone has simple "Radar" app. Why is it we cant get the basics out of the way before we get a fart maker?
EDIT:
The mobile site is a bit better, but I still wish to find a simple fast method to get a radar map....
What city do you want the radar to show?
Thanks for the tip! I did this and it works great!
You don't have QuickLaunch? You should check it out. It's well worth the $5
IMO it's a must have for the Storm.
Thanks for the tip. Worked like a charm
Central Indiana, and a bit west to see incoming...
AgTitan06 that tip works great for portrait, if it would only fill the screen in landscape mode. Anyhow it is great to not have to scroll down for the radar anymore... thanks again!
I agree... I don't have QL yet so I just made a bookmark with the bb Browser to the image and it works great... You don't see the key but who cares!!!
THANKS! :D
I'm in Peoria, IL (Central Illinois)...
Rain is coming your way. They say it might turn into snow, which if it does will bring you/Ohio-ish 4-7 inches of snow. :)
I use a Jonathan H. Fisher Storm Launcher directly into the Accuweather Active Radar Display: it is the cat's meow !

Yea, that kind of bugged me too, so what I did to get it to work in landscape mode was to go edit the quicklaunch for it, and you'll see in the URL it says "w=350&h=470".....change it to say "w=470&h=350", and then it will work perfectly in landscape. Unfortunately, it won't work in portrait once you make this change, but at least you can set your quicklaunch to load up the portrait or landscape version.
