Question about switching service and family plans
Hi all,
I plan on getting a BlackBerry Storm (hopefully today), but I have a few questions before I do anything. I currently have a Sprint and my 2 year agreement has ended so I am free to cancel/switch providers whenever. Since I plan on switching to Verizon, do I have to call Sprint and cancel the service before I do anything? Or can I just go to Verizon and have them set me up with a new account while keeping my same phone number before contacting Sprint and canceling? The reason I ask is because I'm afraid that if I call Sprint first, I will lose my phone number and have to get a new one when I switch to Verizon.
Also, I plan on going on my aunt's family plan as well. From what I understand, I will be paying the regular 2-year agreement price for the phone. The only thing that I am not sure about is am I allowed to go to the store and buy the phone by myself, then have my aunt call in and add me in the next couple days? Or does she have to be there with me when I purchase my phone?
