Why does it say that my current total space is 7.3GB when it is an 8GB sandisk card? If I were to resync my itunes onto my storm (clear the media card, readd certain playlists), would my total memory decrease? Thanks in advanced.

The actual free memory on the card is always less then the actual "size" of the card
Oh I see.. ~10% on media card remains unused.
Because storage device manufacturers are dirty, dirty liars.
More specifically, storage drives are marketed in decimal gigabytes, while the devices using them report binary gigabytes. Thus
8GB / 2^30 * 10^9 = 7.45GB
Then subtract a little file system overhead to get what the device reports.
